There’s plenty to see here, so take your time, look around, and get to know us. We hope you enjoy our site and take a moment to drop us a line. Every photo and video you see comes straight from our off-grid homestead in Talkeetna, Alaska.

Winter Sunset on the Farmstead

The sunset is simply amazing out here

How we move fuel off grid

Trash Burning Bonfire.

A section of our woodshed when we first bought the property. Not much there..lol

Moved the old "Fuel" storage area closer to the house to have a place for the BBQ and freezer so they can still be used in the winter.

Built a new "Fuel" tent and used other space for kindling and construction wood storage

The back of the "Fuel" tent is a make shift gas station for filling the quads

It's a little tough to see, but the hose hanging out goes to the fuel tank in the last picture, which we use to fill the quads.

Converted a small covered storage area into the "Yard Work Shed"

Got a greenhouse from a friend and got it up and running. Little late for this year, very minor yeilds. Maybe next year

Some minor roof repairs. No one sells red roof panel anymore. I like the blue better anyway.

Long way to go still

Filling the wood shed...slowly

Moving the 20X20 Metal Storage unit

Putting the roof back on

Still working on the roof

STILL working on the roof

Finally done

Cutting wood for the winter

Our trail to the Susitna river. Flooded from 3 weeks of rains

The grey color on the leaves shows how high the water was at one point

One of the floating bridges on the trail to the road. The weather is causing some issues

Granted the bridges are old and in need of repair, but this does show how the weather affects the trail

An area of the trail that has rutted due to erosion from the quads pulling up water from the puddles.

The same rutted area. It's a far cry from perfect and is not as bad as the picture seems to show, but got it knocked down enough it is usable for now. With more rain coming, It won't stay fixed for long.
